We are focusing on Pseudomonas stutzeri, a denitrifying bacteria. This bacteria has the ability to work in heterotrophic and aerobic conditions. According to a research study done by Zhang in Wuhan, at 30 degrees celsius, Pseudomonas Stutzeri is able to denitrify nitrate, nitrite, and ammonium. Its ammonium utilization is about 95% in 18 hours, which is incredibly fast. It can also remove ammonium at low temperatures and in the domestic sewage.
